Torrentz2.eu, the latest clone for torrentz.eu is already up and seems like a legit replacement for the popular torrent site. Torrentz.eu is a popular torrent aggregation website that shut shop very recently.
Torrentz.eu shutdown came right after Kickass Torrent was taken down and its 30-year old Ukranian founder Artem Vaulin was detained in Poland. It is unclear how Torrentz2.eu has come up and from where the service is originating but it looks like a perfect rip off of Torrentz with similar UI and similar design.
Torrentz2.eu calls itself a clone of Torrentz and hence a free, fast and powerful meta-search engine. The website like Torrentz aggregates results from dozens of search engines. The Torrentz2.eu claims to be indexing 59,642,496 torrents from 124,175,891 pages.
While Torrentz2.eu seems like a comeback for Torrentz, it is not clear how long the website would survive. Torrentz has bid adieu after 13 years of being in service. Torrentz2.eu also adds a message “We will always love you Torrentz. Goodbye.” Alexa, the global web traffic analysis website ranks Torrentz as 28 most popular website.
Clone websites are nothing new to torrent sites. Soon after Kickass Torrents was taken down by authorities, clone websites started regenerating quickly. The most popular of them KAT.am, distributing films, video games, television and other media was pulled down a week later.
The fate of Torrentz2.eu is unknown for now but we can say that Torrentz breathes a new lease of life.
