The Sims Mobile – Review Reaction First Look (Gameplay Footage)

PRESENTED BY EA GAME CHANGERS – AD. This is a review of The Sims Mobile beta version, which we recently got to try at EA Play and also speak to the game developers. Thanks to EA Game Changers for flying us to the event. At this time we’re allowed to share general impressions only — stay tuned for more detailed videos later!

For our initial reactions to The Sims Mobile announcement and Frequently Asked Questions from the game developers (Part 1), check our video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeVGJuap9I0

THE SIMS MOBILE – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (PART 2!)

*Is The Sims 4 team the same team that develops The Sims Mobile?*

The Sims 4 Team and The Sims Mobile team are both proudly part of Maxis, however both development teams work separately. The Sims Mobile team is comprised of a variety of very talented people, some who have worked on previous The Sims titles, and some who come from a mobile background.

*With the announcement and release of The Sims Mobile, how does this affect The Sims 4?*

The announcement of The Sims Mobile does not impact the development of The Sims 4 or any future Sims 4 content. Both The Sims 4 and The Sims Mobile are part of the Maxis family, but function separately within the organisation.

*Is this a port of the Sims 4 to mobile platform?*

The Sims Mobile is a brand-new addition to The Sims family. We have been taken into account many of the key learnings and best practices shared by The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay, and drawn particular inspiration from The Sims 4 Legacy Challenge, but The Sims Mobile is not a port or new version of either.

*What is the main inspiration behind the creation of The Sims Mobile?*

We’ve always been inspired by the creativity of the Sims Community for years, and the Legacy Challenge has been one of the stand outs for us. We’ve taken inspiration from that and incorporated some other key elements to create The Sims Mobile.

*Why does The Sims Mobile have a very similar art style to The Sims 4?*

One of our goals in creating the art style for The Sims Mobile was to unify the visual identity between our titles so that all our players can tell, wherever they are playing, that they are playing a Sims game. Through our visual style we are bringing The Sims family closer together.

*Is this a reskin/remake of The Sims FreePlay?*

*Does The Sims Mobile use ‘real time’ actions similar to The Sims FreePlay? (eg, actions that take hours to complete)*

There are timed actions within The Sims Mobile but they are not based on ‘real time’. The majority of actions within The Sims Mobile are seconds to minutes long. There are a few actions that are in hours but they fall into the minority.

*Does The Sims Mobile require players to pay?*

The Sims Mobile is available to download and play for free. Any and all microtransactions within The Sims Mobile are definitely optional.

Your review is very concise and helpful. I can now see why it hasn't been released everywhere yet, and I'm glad you got to go and try the game and talk with the developers, not just to give them feedback, but to bring back this information to the rest of us. I didn't know there was such an event. It sounds like its kind of like the musicians' NAMM event. It must've been a lot of fun. Thank you for posting this! I'm content to wait for a better game now.

Pros: Ok I like how you can change the things you but like how you can get qruest from the sims you can build cool buildings like in SFP it looks like a cool game and Love that you can get all kind of hair styles

Cons: Ok so I don't like how you can't make the little sims do what you want theme to do and I don't like how the sims grow so fast even you can't sell the thing you buy

Looking forward to play this game tho hope it will come soon

When is this game coming to the App Store? It's not on there yet. Hope is soon though. I know it's not as amazing as sims freeplay at all. It looks a little weird, let be honest here now everybody/everyone.

I feel like the UI of this game is more complicated than the sims free play and is lacking in creativity and freedom while playing. I understand that this is not completely finished yet and is free but it could have more building options and creativity with it. After seeing some gameplay of it, I kinda see it confined to events and the game taking a bit more control over you. But again, this may change.
